Tefal owes its origins to a Frenchman, Marc Grégoire, and his wife, Colette. M. Grégoire, a keen fisherman, wanted to make his rod reel in more smoothly and, in the 1950's, experimented to see if a non stick coating might provide the answer. It did! But it was his wife who made the real breakthrough by gently suggesting that coating the cooking pans would have a more worthwhile application by making them easier to cook with and simpler to clean. Now, Tefal is the number one name in non-stick products and small appliances, operating in over 120 countries. Tefal remains committed to making household tasks easier and cooking results better, through a constant flow of new ideas and technology.

Good looking...and good cooking.![]()
I most recently owned a supermarket value range set of pans, which got horrendously scratched and burnt, and weren't good value for money because I got through two sets before realising the error of my ways and investing in this Tefal set.
There is a good sized frying pan, and it's non stick. You don't need to use any oil in it either. There is a red spot in the middle which indicates when it's at optimum heat.
You also get a milk pan (without lid) and 3 saucepans of different sizes, with glass lids which also contain a hole through which steam can escape. The pans are reassuringly heavy; another thing I learnt about cheaper pans is that they are more lightweight because they contain less metal and they get hot too quickly which is why my food burnt more often than even a mediocre cook like me could understand.
These pans are very easy to clean, even with grease and burnt on food. They look good as well as performing well and I think that the current price is a real bargain and they're a real investment. I think they're built to last.
Good but not the longest lasting product![]()
This pan set I have now owned for about six months, and to cook with they are exactly what you would want from a non stick pan set, and the lids have a very handy twist to open feature that allows steam to escape without building up. However after six months they are starting to show signs of ware and tear with the surfaces are starting to show scratches and small chips in the teflon despite cleaning properly without overly abrasive wire wools or brushes. On the flip side of this opinion, I have worked in the past as a professional chef and cook far more than most people so if you are only needed a set of pans for occasional use or don't mind replacing them every year then there is no reason not to recommend this set.
